Our West Virginia Alpaca Farm

Located in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, straddling the West Virginia/Virginia state line, 15 miles west of Winchester, Virginia and 80 miles west of Washington, DC, Bear Garden Farms is a huacaya alpaca and Friesian sport horse breeding facility. We are dedicated to breeding and raising healthy, happy, high quality animals that newcomers to the industry will be proud to step into the show ring with as well as start their herd with. Our animals will also enhance established herds. Whether that animal is an elite huacaya alpaca or a Friesian sport horse, you can be assured of not only obtaining a first class animal, but also first class customer service and support. In business since 2005 we have had the honor and opportunity to learn a great deal from some of the top leaders in the industry. We have experienced firsthand what ongoing customer support means from the farms we have purchased alpacas from and we are committed to build upon our mentors examples and provide exceptional quality of service to our clients. From the very beginning we focused on acquiring genetically superior huacaya alpacas. Our herd represents lineages that create champions the world over including PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, PPPeruvian Kenamori Gold, Peruvian Macusani, Snowmass Invincible, 4Peruvian Legacy, Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol and Checkmate, PPeruvian Caligula, Danko and Hemingway. Friesian Horses

The Friesian stallion Pieter Fan e’ Hegewei, (son of the extraordinary stallion Doaitsen 420), dances in our pastures and dresses up our horse barn! “Pete” was imported from the Netherlands, where he won the prestigious award of 1st Premie at his foal Keuring. Though still young, he is a joy to handle, strikingly graceful, exceptionally intelligent, possesses superb conformation, and is quite large (16.2 at 24 months of age).

My Special Summer, our Spotted Saddle Mare, has the highly sought after “Pusher” bloodlines. A flashy tobiano, “Summer” has the most wonderful disposition and rides like a Cadillac!
