Our Alpaca Breeding Program Once we set our goal to breed huacaya alpacas, we made the decision to research lineages and to only purchase the best that we could afford. We were not going to buy cheap, imperfect animals to quickly give us babies to sell. We are in this business for the long haul and decided to build on the best from the ground up. From that decision our foundation line was created, with lineages that read like the "who's who" in the alpaca world: names that create legends worldwide such as: PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, PPPeruvian Kenamori Gold, Peruvian Macusani, Snowmass Invincible, 4Peruvian Legacy, Crescent Moon's Rayo Del Sol and Checkmate, PPeruvian Caligula, Danko and Hemingway. We are proud of the herd we have cultivated and continually strive to improve each generation's fleece characteristics, always striving to have the brightest, densest, crimpiest and finest fleece on each and every animal. Customer Service

BGF offers 24/7 customer service whether you buy animals from us or just happen to visit or call our farm. We understand that there will be "odd" questions at odd hours! We both have extensive customer service backgrounds and understand the importance it plays whether you are a newcomer to the business or a veteran breeder with a unique circumstance. Having had the benefit of dealing with numerous pioneers in the U.S. alpaca industry, and realizing that their huge success is directly related to their outstanding customer service, we are committed to building on their experience and examples to ensure our farms' success by passing on their tradition of exemplary customer service to everyone we come in contact with. We are always available to share our experiences of how we handle specific situations in the care of our alpacas with anyone who contacts us, however, this information is our experience only and is not intended as a replacement for veterinary advice and care.

Terrie's background in nursing and Greg's extensive background in design and building enable us to assist in all aspects of alpaca care from barn design to medical issues. We are committed to help new breeders get started on the right track by offering the Bear Garden "starter kit," to any customer purchasing their first alpaca(s). The kit contains halter, lead rope, feed pail, 50# of grain (specialty blend of renowned camelid expert Norm Evans, distributed by Southern States Co-Op), bale of high quality orchard grass, a "bean" scoop & rake, nail clippers (and demonstration on how to use them), a health maintenance kit which includes needles, syringes & a bottle of Dectomax (per BGF protocol, given 1st weekend of each month for prevention of Meningeal worm-check with your local vet for recommendations in your area). Terrie will provide instruction on how our farm administers basic vaccines/shots as well as our vaccine schedule. Greg is available for recommendations on pasture &/or barn design. All animals are sold with up to date vaccines and a detailed medical history available on CD for farms using AlpacaEase/HerdEase software or a printed version for others. We also offer free delivery within 200 miles of our farm. All animals purchased from us receive free boarding for 60 days and reasonable agisting fees apply after 60 days.
